The Gold Medal Round is scheduled for July 24 during Days of ’47, and participants must qualify to take part in this final round.
Eight competitors in each rodeo discipline will compete in the four semi-final rounds for a place in the Gold Medal Round on July 24, 2022. Finalists will be determined by the fastest times or highest scores (top two) in each discipline from each semi-final performance. As well, the two fastest times or highest scores from all four semi-finals combined will qualify, regardless of whether they have advanced. In total, the Gold Medal Round will have ten contestants in each discipline.

Why is it called Days of 47?
It was named “Days of’47” in 1947. It was initially referred to as “Pioneer Days” before being renamed “Covered Wagon Days” in 1931. However, this parade is called, it intends to pay homage to Utah’s unique history. It was the first parade in Salt Lake Valley to celebrate the arrival of the pioneers.

Eight contestants in each rodeo discipline will compete in each semi-final performance to advance to the Gold Medal Round on July 24, 2022.
During each semi-final performance, each discipline’s top times or highest scores will advance to the Gold Medal Round. All four Semi-Final performances that have not yet advanced will qualify as well, based on the three highest scores/fastest times.
A total of eight athletes will be automatically qualified for the Gold Medal Round for each discipline of the final standings of WCRA Segment 8 Leaderboard (8) contestants in each discipline in the Gold Medal Round. Results from the Semi-Finals will not carry over to the Gold Medal Round but will only be used to break ties.

The two ladies that were the last to qualify for the $1 million rodeo went 1-2 on the final night. Recent Texas A&M University graduate Hailey Kinsel stopped the clock in 17.06 seconds to take the gold medal and $50,000, which will move her into the top 15 and a shot at her first National Finals Rodeo.
